At the same time this also means I can make some environments stand out and be memorable when really focusing on one. Readers ultimately don’t care about 95% of the environments. So might as well focus on them when you know it will feel memorable & cool.

Gotta hand it to Fujimoto, his art is often very quickly drawn (though the assistants’ backgrounds helps a lot hiding that) and he often copy paste panels, yet he’s ultra popular anyway. That’s fairly inspiring for manga artists, "don’t try TOO hard with the art".
